Bury St Edmunds is the home of Greene King, but is also a very popular tourist venue with its ancient ruins, museums, gardens and recently renovated Cathedral. There is plenty to do and see and of course there are some fantastic pubs in which you can enjoy excellent food and a refreshing pint of Greene King IPA.
The Town of Stowmarket is at the geographical heart of rural Suffolk and on the River Gipping. You might be surprised to learn that one of the Town’s greatest assets is Museum of East Anglian Life. This is one of the country’s leading open air museums, occupying a site of 70 acres, and is stones throw from the market place.
Discover the delights of Framlingham, one of the prettiest small towns in rural Suffolk. With its Castle, Mere and delightful old buildings, it makes the perfect day out or a wonderful base to explore this timeless part of eastern England.
Ipswich is actually England’s oldest continuously settled Anglo-Saxon town - with medieval streets and architectural sights to enjoy, indeed there are 12 medieval churches within the town itself. However it is has a more contemporary outlook too with great shopping and strong affinity to the Arts.
Surely there is no more picturesque market village in the Country than Lavenham. It is one of the best preserved medieval villages in England with some 320 listed timber framed buildings, many of which are protected by English Heritage. Best described as a “must visit”.
